For our Americas Q3 volunteer day, we decided to volunteer with HomeStretch, a local non-profit located in Roswell, GA.
“HomeStretch guides working homeless families with minor children in north metro Atlanta toward increased self-reliance and stability by providing LifeSkills education, mentoring and supporting housing.”
This organization offers a variety of volunteering projects – from mentoring to renovations, minor home construction and repairs. Our team wanted to get their hands dirty, so we went to repair the homes to our best ability.
Due to the 90+ degree humid Georgia weather, we mostly worked inside the homes. We had a big crew with us, so we were able to prep three houses into homes. The work included everything from decluttering, deep cleaning each room in every house, to assembling beds and furniture, distributing the local trash services bins, setting up each home with fire hydrants and other odd jobs.
We also held a donation drive for the household items that the HomeStretch families will use. The Deputy team did a great job donating every item off of their wish list. Plus, we had fun with the photoshoot below.
Here are some more pictures from the day:

This was an extremely rewarding and fun experience for our team. If you are interested in volunteering with HomeStretch, check out their volunteer page.
